Common Questions

How do I tune in if I live in Largs?
Largs has direct coverage from our Routenburn Golf Club transmitter. Signal is strong across the town and along the coast. Just run autotune on your DAB+ radio.
I'm in Irvine — will I get a clean signal?
Yes — Irvine is covered by our Dalry transmitter to the north. Signal is good across the town, harbourside, and into Dreghorn and Kilwinning.
Do I need a special DAB+ radio?
Yes — ROCK.SCOT broadcasts in DAB+ (not the older DAB standard). Most radios sold in the UK from around 2016 onwards are DAB+ compatible. Check your radio's manual or look for the DAB+ logo.
Can I listen in my car along the Ayrshire coast?
Yes — if your car has a DAB+ radio, you'll pick us up driving the A78 between Largs and Saltcoats. New cars (and many from 2016+) have DAB+ as standard. Older cars can stream us via Bluetooth from your phone.
What about Rothesay (Bute)?
Rothesay receives signal across the Firth from our Routenburn (Largs) transmitter via the Toward peninsula. Coverage is reasonable across central Rothesay but can be patchy further inland on Bute.
I live inland near Beith — will I get signal?
Yes — our Dalry transmitter covers Beith, Glengarnock, and surrounding inland villages. The signal extends north towards Lochwinnoch and east into the Renfrewshire borders.
